Privacy Policy 

OSU DEV ("we," "us," "the club") is a student organization at The Ohio State University. This policy explains what information we collect through osu.dev, why we collect it, and how it's handled. We collect the minimum needed to run events, respond to inquiries, and manage sponsorships — we don't sell your data, and we don't run advertising trackers on this site.

We collect information you voluntarily submit through forms on this site:

• Event RSVPs: name, email, major, graduation year, and dietary restrictions.
• Event check-in: name, email, when you checked in, whether it's your first DEV event, and whether you'd like our newsletter.
• Contact form: name, email, subject, and your message.
• Sponsorship inquiries: company name, contact name, email, and message.

We do not use cookies, analytics, or advertising trackers to monitor visitors on this site.

Your browser keeps a few things on your own device: your light/dark theme choice and, after you RSVP, your name, email, major and graduation year, so the next RSVP form is filled in for you. This stays on your device and is only sent to us when you submit a form. Choose "Not you?" on the RSVP form to clear it.

• To manage event attendance, including dietary accommodations.
• To count attendance. The site shows only totals (such as how many students have attended our events), never names or emails.
• If you ask for the newsletter at check-in, to add your email to our newsletter list.
• To respond to your message or inquiry.
• To follow up with sponsors and partners about their submitted interest.

We do not use your information for anything beyond the purpose you submitted it for.

Form submissions are stored in our Supabase database (hosted by Supabase, Inc.) and, for contact and sponsorship inquiries, may also be delivered to our club email via EmailJS. Access to stored submissions is restricted to authenticated club officers. Photos and logos shown on this site are served from Supabase Storage through images.weserv.nl, a third-party image proxy that resizes and caches images — no personal form data passes through that service. If you opt in to the newsletter, your email is added to our newsletter list on Substack.

You can ask us to review, correct, or delete information you've submitted (for example, an RSVP or a contact form message) at any time by emailing dev@osu.edu. We'll act on reasonable requests promptly.

If how we collect or use information changes meaningfully, we'll update this page and revise the "Last updated" date above.
